Darby, Female, Senior, 9 pounds No, it is not a meerkat- but darling Darby, the chihuahua! Her world was turned upside down when her owner had to bring her to FAPL. True to the chihuahua breed, Darby prefers a quiet, calm home. An adult home is best. She does not care to walk on a leash, but is used to being picked up and held. Darby is frightened being at the shelter, so please ask staff to meet! With her age, Darby will need additional dental work. No appointment is necessary to adopt. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, by visiting the shelter. Applications are not accepted in advance, but will be filled out upon adoption. If you have another dog and/or children in your family and are interested in adopting a FAPL dog, please bring them with you for a meet and greet. Please bring a copy of lease agreement if you rent home/apartment. All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Dogs 7 months and older are heartworm tested. Upon visiting FAPL, if you dont see a particular dog you are looking for that is on the website, please ask at the front desk.
