About Yuki

Hi everyone! My name is Yuki. I am a three-year-old Pomeranian. What I lack in size, I make up for in personality and attitude! When encountering people, I give a warning growl. However, I will allow them to pet me. When meeting other dogs, I will go full Cujo, growling, snarling, and barking. I DO NOT like other dogs. This girl needs to be the ONLY pet in your house visiting dogs will NOT be tolerated! I am prey driven. Cats may fall into the same category as birds, bunnies, and squirrels. Generally, I am laid back unless I am stalking critters and varmints. Young children need to have adult supervision when near me. I love to walk! If there was a Silver Paws (like humans Silver Sneakers) program, I would be an active participant! One walk, each day is a minimum the more walks the better! I love exploring the neighborhood. I will pause to determine what the smell/sound is, and where it is coming from. House trained? Check! I will let you know when I need to potty by going to the door, or staring at you. Fenced in yards are not mandatory for me. If I am outside, I need you there with me. I love sitting on the deck, in my bed that is placed on a deck chair. When you leave, you may crate me. I am crate trained. When you return, I will be excited to see you! Snuggling, on my terms, is fine. If you feel the need to hug and snuggle, I will allow these shows of love and affection. When Ive had enough, I will move on. My major quirk is that I tilt my head a lot. This doesnt affect my health, activities, or outlook on life. Food does not motivate me. I am very selective about what I will eat including treats. Cheese and soft treats do pique my interest. After a walk, I will need a little sustenance to replenish my batteries. If you fill my food bowl in the morning, I will graze throughout the day even up to bedtime! I know basic commands and will decide if I want to listen, or not. When it comes to car rides, I prefer the back seat so I can see out both sides of the car. As head of security for inside and outside the home, I need to be as high as possible with clear sight-lines. During the day, I will sleep soundly because I know that you are on guard duty. At bedtime, I will handle security for you and the house while lying next to you, in my bed, or elsewhere in the house. When asleep, I will bark at odd sounds. If you are looking for an easy-going, loving, walking buddy, I may be the dog for you! My foster mom feels I would be an ideal dog for a first-time pet owner, with no small children. Yuki is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped Adoption Fee is $450 (no checks) Foster to contact: Cindy at cindykdaniels@gmail.com Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home & truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption; discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, & 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through. Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11 am - 2 pm at Apple Valley Petco (7590 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124) Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children. The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7.25% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals! CAN YOU FOSTER? By taking a dog or puppies temporarily into your home and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more! If you're interested, please email our office @ mail@last-hope.org and give us your contact information and what you would like to foster and someone will get back to you! You can also apply to be a foster home on our webpage! In the upper left hand corner theres a drop down tab with the link for canine foster home. Just fill it out online & submit! We will get back to you as quick as we can.
