Her medical needs and post-surgical care are already planned as part of her adoption.
About Rose D
Rose D arrived from Arkansas and is a small Pomeranian and Chihuahua mix with a gentle, sweet spirit. She came to the rescue needing several surgeries. Rose will be spayed before adoption and will also require orthopedic surgery on her right rear knee to repair a grade 4/4 medial luxating patella. Her recovery will involve 4 to 6 weeks of limited activity and light physical therapy in a calm, quiet home. She also has significant dental disease, and dental surgery with a likely extraction is planned; soft food will be necessary during her recovery period, typically 2 to 4 weeks. The adoption contract for Rose includes both the knee and dental surgeries, one round of medications, and a follow-up appointment with the rescue's medical team. Rose gets along well with both cats and dogs, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household. Fun fact: Rose is a Taurus, which might explain her easygoing and steady nature. Questions about Rose D
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rose D is a Pomeranian and Chihuahua mix, both of which do well in apartments or small homes as long as they receive attention and care. She'll especially benefit from a quiet environment during her recovery period.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Rose D and similar small breed mixes aren't demanding about outdoor space. A safe yard or routine walks are enough, especially since she'll need restricted activity post-surgery.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Both Pomeranians and Chihuahuas can be good with gentle, respectful children. Rose D should be in a calm setting while she heals, but in the long run, she can do well with kids who understand her needs.
