Meet Palmer. For several days, this sweet boy made the Stellar Bank in Houston's East End his makeshift home. He waited patiently near the drive-thru, approaching every car in hopes of finding a meal or a friendly face. While many kind strangers left him food and water, a bank is no place for a dog to live. After his rescue, we took him into our care, and he is now settling in beautifully at boarding. From day one, he has shown us nothing but absolute sweetness; it is like he knows he is finally safe. He is recovering from life on the street and will be fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped before his adoption is final. Although Barrio Dogs is a community-focused education organization rather than a traditional rescue, we step up whenever we can. We are deeply committed to the health, safety, and quality of life of our community and its street dogs.
