About Martin

Meet Martin, a 10- to 12-year-old Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix weighing 16 lbs. Martin was rescued from dire circumstances, having been matted and uncomfortable to the point where sedation was necessary for grooming. After spending over two weeks at the vet, he was found to be in congestive heart failure, with a high-grade heart murmur, and he has experienced a couple of small seizures. His eyes are in rough shape, but he manages well and doesn’t seem distressed. Despite his medical issues, which some may view as unadoptable, Martin radiates joy and has bursting potential for life. He requires four oral medications—three for his heart problems and one for seizures—along with eye drops. Luckily, he is low-maintenance in terms of care, and he brings a smile wherever he goes. Martin adores the company of other dogs, loves to be held like a baby, and enjoys massages. He is both house and crate trained, using a pee pad when needed. This charming little fellow loves outdoor adventures and would thrive in a quiet, adult home where he can safely explore and receive the tender love he deserves. If you think you could provide Martin with cuddles, treats, and a cozy environment, he’s eager to meet you! Your new best friend is just one click away.
