About Rusty

Meet Rusty, the ultimate loyal companion. This charming 3-year-old Chiweenie, a mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund, is weighing in at 12 lbs. He's settling in perfectly in his foster home. Whoever adopts Rusty will gain a truly special dog. With some training under his belt, Rusty loves staying close to his human, always within a few inches while on walks or in the backyard. He knows commands like "Sit," "Down," and even "Dance!" His recall is excellent, responding eagerly when called. Rusty is an attentive watchdog, alerting you to any strange noises or visitors. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, currently sharing his space with two female Dachshunds. While he has a high prey drive for squirrels, he’s also an engaging playmate, thriving on games of catch and tug-of-war. Once playtime is over, he transforms into the ultimate snuggle buddy, often burrowing under the covers with his human. Almost fully house-trained, he's learned to use pee pads while adapting to a new routine. Ideally, his forever home would have a doggie door or easy access to a yard. Rusty is smart, affectionate, and ready to find his forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and a professional cover-burrower, Rusty is waiting for you! Location: Festus, MO.
