About Phoebe
Phoebe is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, about 3 to 4 years old, with a lovely brown coat. She came in after being found running loose with her companion Rachel in Taney County, Missouri. She tends to be a little shy when meeting new people, but truly is a sweet-natured dog once she relaxes. Phoebe is also wily—she can climb out of standard 4-foot pens, so her future home will need a secure fenced yard with privacy fencing for her safety. She’s generally sociable with other dogs, though she has an alpha streak, and enjoys their company. Energetic and full of life, Phoebe would thrive with someone who enjoys active pursuits like walking or hiking. She gravitates towards women but will warm up to men given time. A small, securely fenced backyard is ideal for Phoebe, as she’s energetic and wants space to explore and play—just make sure the fencing is escape-proof.
