About Rover

Meet Rover, your next adventure buddy! This handsome 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur has a heart full of love for exploring. Rover was picked up as a stray at just 6 months old, and he’s ready for a forever home that will appreciate his unique personality. Though he tends to be a bit cautious around men at first, especially early on, he thrives with patience. His foster dad took a couple of weeks to earn his trust, so an understanding adopter who can provide a secure environment will help him flourish. Once Rover feels at home, his true personality shines. He adores other dogs, and a game of fetch is one of his favorite pastimes. His athletic build means he’s a natural runner and loves outdoor adventures—water and hiking are particularly his favorites. He’s also lived peacefully with cats and chickens. Car rides are a breeze for Rover; he loads up easily and behaves calmly in public. He’s leash trained and fully house trained, although he’s not fond of the crate, he settles down nicely at night. Due to his ability to scale a 6-foot wooden fence, a secure yard or supervised outdoor time is essential. An active home with another playful dog would be ideal. If you're in search of a loyal, athletic, water-loving companion for your life’s adventures, Rover is the perfect match for you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
