About Petra

Petra is a remarkable survivor with an incredible spirit. Born on the island of St. Lucia, she faced immense challenges as a puppy, navigating the streets alone in search of food and shelter. When rescuers found her, this petite girl was just 8 pounds, frightened and in need of help. With the dedication of her rescuers, Petra transformed from a timid pup into a joyful, spirited dog who loves to explore and play. Now in foster care with Bruno Project Rescue, she’s discovering the joys of companionship, especially with other dogs. Walks and outdoor adventures fill her with joy; a chance to put on her harness sends her bouncing into excitement. Petra thrives best in a calm, patient environment. She needs a quiet home without small children, where she can build trust and confidence at her own pace. She’s smart, has mastered her routines, and loves breakfast time, often standing on her back legs in anticipation. Despite her past, Petra remains gentle and loving, eager to share her heart with the right person. If you can offer her the supportive home she deserves, she’s ready to truly live.
