About Tanner
Tanner is all joy and pent-up Labrador energy, bursting at the seams for a second shot at family life. He’s around two years old and spent his early years with a family who never taught him basics like leash walking or sitting. When surrendered, he didn’t even come with a name—but Tanner has proved himself eager and adaptable, quickly learning the ropes with the leash and picking up new things for treats. He’s unmistakably Lab: energetic, toy-obsessed, and always moving. Watching him go wild for a ball or delight in a pile of toys says a lot—you’d be hard-pressed to find a happier soul. Tanner will do best with active adopters who want a partner for adventures; he isn’t wired for apartment life or long, lazy days indoors. He does need a bit of patience and continuing training, but he’s tuned in and motivated when treats are involved. Tanner is lean (could stand to gain a few pounds—right now ribs are still showing at 65 pounds), and still has true puppy clumsiness. He’d likely knock down little ones, so a home with older kids suits him better. He gets along with other dogs, but calmer, older dogs may find his exuberance a bit much. Above all, Tanner’s got a charming personality and loves every second. It’s easy to see all the loyalty and fun he’ll bring the right family. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Tanner, as a Yellow Labrador Retriever, will thrive in a home with plenty of space to move around—a suburban or rural setting with a yard fits best. Labs aren’t ideal for apartments unless they get serious daily exercise.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Labs like Tanner do best with a secure backyard or regular access to outdoor spaces where they can run, play fetch, and burn off energy. Long daily walks and playtime are a must.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Labrador Retrievers are famously great with kids. Tanner would be a good fit for families with older children who won’t be knocked over by his clumsy enthusiasm.
