Meet Jerry! Jerry is 1 years old and one of 16 dogs who recently made the journey to us from Puerto Rico in search of a brighter future. Jerry went through heartworm treatment in Puerto Rico, but is still testing positive as the the heartworms make their way out of his system. Because of this, he will need to have low activity and leash-only walks for the next few months until his heartworm test shows negative. From Vieques Humane Society: This big, lovable yellow Lab mix was found roaming the streets, so we don’t know much about his past. Jerry is full of life and loves all the fun things—walks, toys, tennis balls, a good game of fetch, and plenty of belly rubs. He’s an active, happy guy who will thrive with someone ready to spend time with him and help him learn the basics. He’ll need a home that can continue his training—he’s ready to learn commands like sit and down and become the best boy he can be.
