About Lucy

Lucy is a small young Maltese/Shih Tzu mix about a year old who came into rescue in heartbreaking condition—extremely thin and so matted she needed sedation for grooming. She’s already made strong gains, putting on weight and steadily getting stronger as her playful, affectionate nature reemerges. Lucy has a lot of bounce and energy, and she adores people. She is still getting the hang of house training, working on her leash skills, and learning not to chew everything in reach. Mouthiness suggests nobody taught her clear boundaries before, but she’s quick to pick things up with positive direction. Lucy enjoys playing with compatible dogs and would do well with another friendly canine. She isn’t suitable for a home with cats. If you’re up for continuing her training, offering consistency, and letting her affectionate side blossom, Lucy could become an outstanding companion. Your new best friend is just one click away.
