About Aero

Aero landed in his foster home after narrowly escaping euthanasia at a Houston shelter, all because he was too fearful to walk on a leash. Now, he's a well-adjusted 2-year-old Heeler mix, weighing around 45 lbs, who has made tremendous progress. Aero walks confidently on leash, loves car rides, and thrives with someone who offers him a routine and patience. Like most Heelers, he’s sharp, active, and happiest when he has a job or some structure. He entertains himself when needed, happily batting toys around or hanging out in the yard, but he also craves adventure time with his humans. Aero becomes fast friends with other dogs and would enjoy a sibling or plenty of canine social time. Due to his herding instincts, he sometimes nips in play, so he’s best matched with families with older children. He’s not a fan of cats. If you play guitar or enjoy music, you’ll have his undivided attention—he’ll even sit quietly to listen, soothed by the sound. Aero is smart, gives his best when challenged, and does best with a steady, confident owner willing to keep up with his training. He has some food guarding tendencies from his time on the streets, so separate feeding areas work best. Aero is not destructive and doesn’t really need a kennel, though he might steal a shoe for fun. He’s completed heartworm treatment and is cleared for adoption across the country. For an adopter with Herding breed experience, Aero offers loyalty, intelligence, and an endless curiosity about life. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
