About Aelia
Aelia is a 3-4 month old German Shepherd/Terrier mix with a short tricolor coat who can't wait to meet her future family. This playful, curious puppy is the definition of charming—she loves playing, exploring, and soaking up all the attention from people, kids, and other dogs. She's open to living with cats, as she’s young and adaptable. While crate and house training are works in progress, her affectionate and social personality shines through every interaction. Aelia is best suited to adopters ready for the hands-on commitment of raising a puppy: patience, consistent training, and plenty of enrichment will help her become a confident adult. She’ll thrive in a home that can meet her playful energy with ongoing love, activity, and encouragement. Fully vetted except for her spay (which will be covered by the rescue), she comes with an adoption fee that also supports the rescue's medical efforts for other animals. Visits are available in the southwest suburbs of Chicago by appointment. If you're searching for a sweet, playful companion and are prepared for puppyhood, Aelia may fit perfectly into your family. How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
German Shepherd/Terrier mixes like Aelia benefit from a moderate to large amount of outdoor space. She'll need daily play and exercise, so a fenced yard or frequent trips to a park are helpful.

Yes, Aelia's mix is known for being great with children, especially if they are socialized early and given guidance. She’s already shown she gets along wonderfully with kids.
