About Sutherland

Click apply to start the adoption process. Sutherland is estimated to be around 7 years old and weighs 85 pounds. She came to the rescue as a cruelty case after being abandoned for several days without food or water. Despite her difficult ordeal, Sutherland's early training and the love she once received clearly shine through. This large, tricolor (brown, black, and white) girl knows commands like sit, down, and shake, and she's both house trained and crate trained. She even understands "do you want to go bye-bye?" Although she suffered some past neglect, including fly bite wounds and permanent disfigurement of her right ear due to untreated ear infections, Sutherland has healed beautifully. Her time in the shelter nearly ended in tragedy, but her loving nature and the admiration of staff led to her rescue. Sutherland has shown herself to be very friendly and gentle, particularly with other dogs of all types. She’s best suited to a cat-free home. Sutherland’s personality is marked by her obedience, easygoing nature, and her love for people—whether young or old. She adores belly rubs, holding hands, and gazing at you with affection. Above all, she craves companionship and will be a devoted friend who lives for your attention. She narrowly avoided becoming a statistic, and now this sweet, gentle dog deserves a loving forever home where she will always be safe and cared for. Her adopters should be prepared to give her time to adjust and decompress as she transitions into her new life. Sutherland was born on October 22, making her a Libra—libras are known for their social and loving spirit! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
