Shira A Quiet
AvailableShira is a small American Shorthair kitten with a calico short coat, currently being fostered in Stamford, CT. She has been spayed and her vaccinations are up to date. Shira is house trained and is known for her gentle, quiet temperament. She gets along well with gentle cats and does well with older children who can match her calm demeanor.
About Shira A Quiet
Shira bounced back quickly from a rough start after being rescued from a Bronx colony and losing her sibling. She's eased right into life indoors and is a soft-spoken, unfussy kitten who mostly wants to be wherever her favorite people are. Still just over six months old, Shira's energy lands somewhere in the middle: she has spurts of play, especially with her kicker toys, but really she loves long cuddle sessions on the couch. Shira is the ultimate velcro cat. She follows her humans from room to room and is happiest curled up on a lap or being carried around. She has a calm purr and makes a surprisingly laid-back coworker, content to hang out as you work or nap by your side at night. Shira has lived with children and handled it well, but louder, active environments can unsettle her; she'd be happiest with older kids (10+) who respect her gentle nature. Other pets aren't necessary for her happiness; she could thrive solo as your one and only. If you do have a quiet, mellow cat, that could work, but big personalities or very boisterous animals overwhelm her. Shira is shy at first in new situations, and quick movements can startle her, but she never lashes out—just melts into you the moment she's held. Shira is currently in foster care in Stamford, CT, and is ready to travel for the right loving home. If you can give her a peaceful space and steady affection, she'll return it tenfold.
