About Hancho
Hancho really is the full package—a big, striking boy with a warm, playful heart and the steadfast loyalty that makes Rottweiler mixes stand out. He weighs about 80 pounds, and while his size turns heads, what he truly wants is to curl up next to his people. Hancho first found his way home in 2022, when his foster mom adopted him after falling for his gentle nature. Sadly her health now prevents her from caring for him, so Hancho is searching for a new family to love as fiercely as he loves them. He strikes a nice balance with medium energy: wild zoomies in the yard and games with other dogs—he gets along with dogs of any size and genuinely enjoys canine company. After he’s had his fun, he transforms into a mellow cuddle-bug, ready for ear scratches and stretch-out naps at your side. Hancho’s done well with kids over 5 and has proven cat-friendly, too. He’s also house trained and crate trained, and settles in quietly for car rides. On leash, he’s pretty good, just sometimes pulls a bit when something exciting catches his eye. With strangers, he can be a barker at first, but quickly softens up with a bit of patience and kindness. Hancho’s smart, loving, and has already known what it feels like to be truly cherished—he’s ready to give that back to his next family. Hancho is currently in Princeton, MA and waiting for a second chance at a happy, stable home. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
