About Joey

Joey is a pint-sized goofball with a soft, curly coat and unmistakable charisma. At around a year old and weighing about 14 pounds, this small Maltipoo mix has picked up plenty of commands and, while still working on being fully house trained, shows promise with consistency. Joey came from a loving home but ended up in rescue due to circumstances beyond his control, so he’s had some adjustments to make. He can be wary and anxious when first meeting new people, taking his time to figure out if he’s safe, but once he settles in, his playful and loving nature is impossible to ignore. Joey warms up with patience—he took a week to open up to his foster, but immediately clicked with the man of the house, showing he chooses his people on his terms. He’s happy and energized once comfortable, full of wiggles, silly antics, and zoomies. He does best in homes with older kids, ideally with another sociable dog and a securely fenced yard for play. Joey thrives on companionship and shouldn’t be left alone for long hours. An adopter willing to give him space to build trust will be rewarded with a wildly joyful and loyal companion. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
