About Archie

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Archie, a lovable and goofy 25-pound, 5-year-old male believed to be a Poodle/Schnauzer mix. Archie was found as a stray and, after being unclaimed, was adopted from animal control. Unfortunately, he was surrendered to the rescue because the other dog in the home didn't get along with him. Archie adores people, is playful, and loves his walks, always eager to sniff out new adventures and company. This sweet boy thrives on treats and already knows how to sit. Archie has done well with grooming and brushing for staff and, although crating isn’t his favorite, he is learning to handle it for essentials like vet and grooming visits with noticeable progress. He is seeking a patient home where he can take the time to decompress and truly reveal his loving and silly personality. Archie would do best as the only pup in the home, since he doesn’t like to share his toys and treasures with other dogs. He should not go to a home with young children or cats but absolutely wants to bond with a devoted person. Archie is currently healing from FHO surgery performed in March and is doing well, with a recheck coming up to determine the rest of his healing journey. As a fun fact, with a birthdate of November 6, Archie is a Scorpio—known for loyalty and deep connections, he might just be the soulmate you’re waiting for! They are waiting with paws crossed!
