About Atticus
Atticus is a traditional Black and Tan Rat Terrier from a small Texas breeder, now entering his next chapter at CCPAL Rescue. Born on March 12, 2026, which makes him a creative and energetic Pisces, he’ll be a small dog fully grown—about 15 to 18 pounds. He stood out in his photo shoot for his calm focus, holding his pose while the camera snapped away. Like most puppies his age, Atticus is playful, affectionate, and eager to learn the rules. He’ll receive vaccinations, neutering, and deworming before he goes home. Atticus is one of the middle-sized pups in a litter of purebred Rat Terriers being placed as the breeder retires. Kids aged 8+ suit his temperament well, and the breed’s intelligence and gentle loyalty make training straightforward. He’s best matched with a moderately or very active adopter—Rat Terriers want to be in the middle of the action and do their best when involved in daily life. He would make a faithful family companion and watchdog. Atticus is fostering in Bandera, TX, and can be adopted locally or transported throughout the East Coast, Washington, Portland, Minnesota, or Vermont (excluding RI and MA).
