We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Elliot, 5 months (estimated January 2026), neutered male, Terrier mix, 22 pounds. He is in a foster home in Austin, TEXAS. He will continue to grow and we do not know his full grown size. Elliot was discovered in the woods by one of our volunteers who was driving for work. She saw a white spot and stopped to investigate. We are certain he was dumped in this area as there were no houses or businesses in sight. He is very lucky she scooped him up! Elliot is a fun-loving, affectionate pup with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you active, make you laugh, and then curl up for a well-earned nap, Elliot may be your perfect match. This playful boy loves other dogs and is always ready for a game of chase or a toy-filled play session. When Elliot plays, he gives it his all! He's full of energy and enthusiasm, though he's still learning to recognize when his canine friends are ready for a break. His excitement is contagious, and his wagging tail and happy hops make it clear that he thinks everyone is a potential new best friend. Elliot has met dogs of all sizes and ages and approaches them with friendly curiosity and excitement. On leash, he gets eager when he spots another dog and would love nothing more than to run over and say hello. At home, Elliot is a sweet and loving companion. He's house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside by heading to the door. He's also comfortable with his crate and often chooses to relax there on his own. At night, he sleeps in his crate, and during the day, it's available as his personal retreat. Elliot enjoys toys, loves affection, and is always happy to spend time with his people. He does well with both children and adults and especially enjoys playtime and attention from kids. His foster describes him as playful, affectionate, outgoing, smart, and delightfully silly. While Elliot can be a little nervous when meeting new people or riding in the car, he continues to gain confidence with patience and positive experiences. He's already mastered stairs and walks nicely on leash by staying close to his person. One of Elliot's favorite things in the world? Ice cubes! He also loves hanging out on the balcony, where he can watch the world go by and enjoy the fresh air. Like many young dogs, Elliot still has a few things to work on. He gets very excited at mealtime and tends to eat quickly, so his future family should be prepared to help him develop good eating habits. Elliot would thrive in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and opportunities for adventure. Whether you're heading out for a walk, playing in the yard, or simply spending quality time together, Elliot is ready to be right by your side. If you're looking for a loyal, playful companion with a goofy personality and lots of love to give, Elliot can't wait to meet you! Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
