About Asteroid

Asteroid is a striking young Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix, still in the thick of puppyhood and ready to find his place in a forever home. At just 11 weeks old, Asteroid has the playful energy and curiosity you would expect from a large-breed puppy. He’s part of a litter that’s recently left the puppy pile, eager for individual attention and a family to help him grow into a loyal companion. Asteroid aims to spend his days chasing toys, doing laps around the living room, and squeezing in snuggles between all the action. When he’s older, he’ll want to explore the neighborhood and meet other dogs. Socialization and basic obedience are important for him right now—he’d benefit from positive experiences with people, dogs, and cats, along with gentle training to get a head start on house manners. Because he’s young, Asteroid needs frequent potty breaks and active play, so he’ll do best in a home where someone has the flexibility to care for him throughout the day. He’s neutered and is current on his puppy vaccinations. Asteroid gets along with other dogs, and with early, patient training, he should do well with children and cats, too. Asteroid is currently in Washington, DC, waiting to meet the family he’ll get to grow up with. Your new best friend is just one click away.
