About Max
Max (sometimes called Maxi) is a 7-year-old Havanese mix weighing around 10 pounds. He’s house trained and comfortable spending time in his crate. Max has a sharp mind, is highly loyal, and knows several commands like sit, paw, and down—he’ll patiently wait for permission before diving into meals. He loves belly rubs, chin scratches, cozy naps, and never passes up a chance to carry around his favorite Bear Bear toy. Max bonds deeply with his people and does best in a stable home with structure and clear expectations. He’s a good fit only for experienced dog owners—he isn’t a beginner’s dog—and needs an adult-only household. Building trust with Max takes time, but he’ll be a devoted companion for those who invest in him. He gets along well with calm dogs but can be anxious around new people and loud noises. With patience and routine, he settles nicely. Max manages a seizure disorder with daily medication. He’s been seizure-free for almost two years, and his medication—about $8 a month—is easily given. He simply needs the usual twice-yearly checkups to keep things on track. Regular grooming is also needed to keep his coat at its best. Max is seeking a new home only due to his owner’s move out of state. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion who is happiest in a quieter, structured home, Max could be your perfect match.
