About Brownie
Brownie is a 2-year-old purebred Bernese Mountain Dog who came to rescue after his original family couldn't keep up with his exercise needs due to their work schedule. He's a big, handsome tri-colored dog with a friendly, happy attitude who tends to pick a favorite person. Brownie has shown he can get along with other dogs, though he is a bit humpy at first (his neuter is completed now, which usually helps). While he's generally sweet and affectionate, Brownie does have a tendency to guard his food. He once bit his previous owner during a mealtime mishap—there was bruising but no broken skin. Because of this, Brownie should not live with young children. His foster has managed the food issues carefully, and so far, all is going smoothly. Brownie is house trained and up to date on his vaccinations. He needs an adopter who can give him consistent structure, daily exercise, and continue to manage his food boundaries. This large, loving companion is looking for a family within a few hours of Rochester, NY, who understands big breed quirks and will help him thrive. Your new best friend is just one click away.
