Rustie is an old soul with the gentlest heart for humans. Somehow, this big, sweet Labrador ended up alone at a shelter after a lifetime with someone who clearly loved him. Rusty arrived confused and heartbroken, as if the world he knew had suddenly disappeared. Obese at 117 pounds when he arrived at the rescue in late January 2026, this sweet guy has lost almost 25 pounds while in our care. We are looking for a home where he will be a loved and cared for member of your family and have a place next to you by the couch. Rustie would be good in a home with no other dogs. Medical / Special Needs: Rustie is currently on a strict diet to lose his extra pounds that are tough on his joints and will need a monthly injection to control his arthritis.
