About Pickles
Pickles is living proof that trust is built, not born. Still just two years old, Pickles came off the streets of Baltimore pretty wary but is settling into indoor life with growing curiosity. He’s a large, striking brown tabby who’s content to people-watch while sitting just far enough away to make you wonder what’s on his mind. Sudden noises make him skittish, and he’s not yet a fan of fast movements or new faces, but if you give him time, he’ll approach for gentle pets and even crack out a friendly meow. His quirks are pretty endearing: Pickles likes his meals uninterrupted—and if you reach for a quick pet during breakfast, he’ll grumble about it, all bluster and no bite. Oddly, he doesn’t mind sharing his bowl with other felines and seems to use those big eyes to keep tabs on everyone, cats and humans. He gets along fine with other cats, though sometimes his social skills are a bit wonky (he’s working on it). Playing helps bring out his confidence and softer side. Pickles would thrive in a calm, child-free home with people who don’t mind a slow start and value a genuine bond. Given patience, he changes from reserved to earnestly affectionate, and you’ll see the full spectrum of his goofy, sweet personality. Born April 22, Pickles is a Taurus—expect plenty of determination and a love of comfort. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
