About Coraline

Coraline is an introvert through and through. She's gentle and affectionate however, she takes a little time to feel safe and doesn't always have the confidence to seek out attention. Those who have taken the time to engage with her have described her as incredibly sweet, melting into pets with purrs, headbutts, and even making biscuits once she gets super relaxed. Due to her shy nature, it isn't uncommon for her to retreat to a cozy hiding spot especially in new environments. Once she feels secure, Coraline is the kind of cat who bonds deeply and loves being close to her people. Coraline previously lived in a home since 2019 and reportedly did well with other cats and dogs, though she may prefer a quieter home where she can build confidence at her own pace. If her new family does happen to include other pets and/or small children is it important to give her a quiet space of her own to decompress in for a 2 week shut-down. She should then be introduced to her new 4 legged family members slowly and gradually over time. Her former owner noted some recent litter box issues, which is just one more reason that Coraline would greatly benefit from a low stress environment and a little patience while settling in. Here at the shelter, we have used checklists to closely monitor her litter box usage and we found that she was using the litter box consistently with out accidents. Intake Reason: Owner Surrender due to behavioral concerns Additional Info: Coraline may prefer a quiet home without small children where she can be the only pet. This pet is up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Adoption hours are 12-5pm daily (arrive by 4:30) at 13800 Manor Road in Baldwin.
