Black and Tan Coonhound lovers - here's a great young hound for you! Dolly is full of life and so happy to be out of the rural shelter where she spent the last 5 months. Hounds just don't get adopted in some areas. Dolly is friendly, confident and curious. She's very active and playful - her current caregiver says she is a real sweetheart. She gets along with other dogs but may be too much for some calmer dogs when she gets wound up in play. Dolly was an owner surrender who had lived in a home prior to her shelter stay. She's housebroken but didn't learn too much about manners and commands, so she'll need some structure and training. she's smart and learns quickly. Dolly is about what you would expect for a young dog that has been cooped up in a kennel for months without benefit of training and leash-walking. She's a hound-lovers hound with prey drive and loves to use her big hound voice. Her ideal home would offer plenty of exercise, mental and physical stimulation, patience and structure. You will be rewarded with a great coonhound. Dolly will be 2 yrs old in a few months, and she weighs about 48 lbs. Our dogs are in foster homes throughout the area or in some cases in the south waiting to be transported north. We do not have a physical shelter.
