Meet Kiki Kiki is a beautiful Bichon Frise, approximately 7-8 years old, who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help her continue her journey toward confidence. After spending much of her life as a breeding dog, Kiki came into rescue unsure of people and the world around her. When she first arrived, human interaction was scary and overwhelming. But over the past several months, Kiki has made incredible progress and continues to show us just how much she's capable of learning and trusting. Today, Kiki enjoys the company of other dogs and has been thriving in daycare, where she's gained confidence by watching her canine friends. She currently lives with several small dogs and does wonderfully with them. Because of this, we believe another friendly, confident dog in her future home would be a tremendous help as she continues to blossom. Kiki now allows gentle handling and can be picked up, though she's still learning that being held is safe. While she may quietly back away when approached, she no longer feels the need to run and hide. Every day, she takes another small step forward. Kiki is looking for a calm home that will celebrate her progress, respect her pace, and give her the time she needs to fully trust. She may never be the dog who greets strangers at the door, but for the person willing to invest in her, watching her confidence grow will be incredibly rewarding. If you have a patient heart, a gentle home, and maybe a friendly dog looking for a companion, Kiki may be the perfect addition to your family. Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 7 yrs old and she weighs close to 11lbs. Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee is $180 and helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
