Meet Dawn! Dawn is a sweet 6-year-old Chihuahua looking for a patient, loving family to call her own. After spending the early part of her life as a breeding dog, Dawn is learning what it means to simply be someone's cherished companion. Dawn can be a little shy when meeting new people and situations, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality begins to shine through. She doesn't mind being picked up and enjoys having kind, calm people around her. She's still building her confidence and would thrive in a home that will give her the time and reassurance she needs to blossom. Dawn gets along well with other dogs and may enjoy having a calm canine friend to help show her the ropes. She would do best with a family that understands that trust takes time and that the greatest rewards often come from helping a timid dog discover how loved she truly is. Dawn's journey hasn't always been easy. She was recently adopted, but due to her adopter experiencing a fall, she was returned through no fault of her own. Now she's hoping to find her forever family. . .a place where she can settle in for good and enjoy the comfort, stability, and love she deserves. Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 6 yrs old and she weighs close to 8lbs. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee $320 helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal and de-worming. -We do not place holds on our dogs. If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas.
