About Sage

Meet Sage, a 3 1/2-year-old American Bully mix from Decatur, AL, who escaped a rough start as a backyard breeder's dog and is now thriving. After a tough recovery from an infection caused by a bad C-section and heartworm treatment, Sage has completely bounced back and now believes she’s one of the Boston Terriers she shares her foster home with. Sage gets called the "cartoon dog" or the "45 lb Chihuahua"—she's a riot just to watch, and her goofy nature puts people in a good mood. Despite her medium size, Sage adores cuddling in a chair with her foster dad or stretching out for a nap in bed. She’s house trained, asks politely to go outside, and enjoys playing with smaller dogs. No loud barking, food guarding, or destructive chewing—just a deep love for toys meant for strong chewers. Her reactions to large dogs and cats haven't been tested. Sage does best in a home where someone works from home, offers her a fenced yard, opportunities for play, and keeps her well-fed with nutritious food. To top it off, Sage actually has a heart-shaped mark on her head that's just as sweet as it sounds. Start your journey together! Apply now.
