Lyra (A572720) would like everyone to know that the face she's making is not a reflection of her mood. Thanks to her slight overbite, Lyra often looks like she just caught a whiff of something questionable. You know the face. Thankfully, she is very cute and we love her for her unique look. The other thing Lyra would like everyone to know is that she is shy when meeting new people. If you walk up to her kennel and she doesn't immediately throw herself into your arms, please do not take it personally. Seriously....Give! Her! A! Dang! Second! Sit down with her. Let her figure you out. Once she gets comfortable, you'll discover that beneath that permanently suspicious expression is a puppy who is more than happy to roll over and dramatically sprawl out so you can admire her impressive belly. At around 9 months old, Lyra is still very much a puppy and is at a fantastic age for training. She seems to like treats, although she occasionally decides she is simply too sophisticated for whatever snack is being offered and turns her nose up at it. Five minutes later she may decide it's the greatest treat she's ever seen. Thankfully, Puppies are allowed to be a little inconsistent. She's also still figuring out leash walking. Right now, it's safe to say she doesn't really understand the assignment. Thankfully, she's young, eager to learn, and has plenty of time to develop those skills with a patient family. Lyra is full of potential, personality, and just enough awkward puppy energy to keep life interesting. If you're willing to give her a moment to warm up, we think you'll find she's worth the wait.
