"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." – Oscar Wilde Fortunately for this Wilde, being himself is working out quite nicely. He's the perfect combination of chill and goofy. One minute he's happily lounging around like a distinguished author taking a break from his latest masterpiece, and the next he's doing something delightfully ridiculous just to make sure you're paying attention. Because while Wilde enjoys relaxation, he enjoys being adored even more. Unlike some literary heroes who spend chapters brooding over life's great mysteries, Wilde has simplified things considerably. His philosophy centers around three important pursuits: collecting pets, collecting more pets, and making sure nobody forgets he would also like additional pets. 📍 Location: Tulsa, OK -Adopters will need to come pick up their new furry family member themselves. Apply at: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app At just 9 weeks old and around 8 pounds, this Great Pyrenees mix has already lived through enough plot twists to fill an entire Victorian novel. His story began in a cemetery. Wilde and his siblings, Brontë and Eliot, were found abandoned among the gravestones, apparently auditioning for the world's saddest gothic literature adaptation. From there, they landed in a crowded shelter where space had run out, dogs kept arriving, and their future was hanging by a thread. Thankfully, a foster family stepped forward before the final chapter could be written. Shortly after entering rescue, parvo struck, sending all three puppies into the hospital. It was a frightening battle, and there were moments when the story could have gone a very different direction. But Wilde tackled it the same way he approaches everything else in life—with determination, stubbornness, and a refusal to let anything steal his spotlight. If Wilde were writing his own autobiography, there would be an entire chapter dedicated to People Who Have Petted Me. It would be lengthy. It would be detailed. It would probably win awards. When it comes to other dogs, Wilde gets along wonderfully with his sisters and is always happy to join a game. He enjoys toys, he enjoys puppy wrestling, and he enjoys all the normal puppy activities you'd expect. That said, if given the choice between chasing a toy and receiving personal attention from a human, Wilde will often choose the human. Why chase entertainment when you can be the entertainment? His experience with cats remains a literary mystery. Unfortunately, no feline critics have been available to review his work at this time. As for children, Wilde has spent time around kids ages 7 and 9 and has been absolutely lovely. He seems to possess what can only be described as a tiny "gentle giant" personality hiding inside his fluffy puppy body. He enjoys attention, welcomes affection, and approaches interactions with a sweet, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to have around. Meeting new people is perhaps Wilde's greatest talent. Some dogs carefully evaluate strangers. Some dogs take time to warm up. Some dogs maintain healthy personal boundaries. Wilde has apparently never read those chapters. His evaluation process is simple: Are you a person?✔️ Do you have hands capable of petting him?✔️ Congratulations. You are now friends. To Wilde, every person is a potential best friend, every lap is a potential throne, and every visitor has arrived specifically to admire him—which, to be fair, is a pretty reasonable assumption. On the puppy energy scale, Wilde clocks in around a respectable 5 out of 10. He's not the type to spend his day launching himself off furniture like a furry stunt double, nor is he a professional couch potato. He falls somewhere in the middle—a delightful balance of playful puppy and professional snuggler. At heart, Wilde seems to lean toward the homebody lifestyle. He enjoys adventures well enough, but his true passion is simply being wherever his people are. Road trip? Great. Movie night? Fantastic. Quick trip to the kitchen? Wonderful. He wasn't doing anything anyway and would be happy to accompany you. His overall temperament can best be described as loving, goofy, charming, and mildly convinced the universe revolves around him. Despite his dramatic devotion to affection, he's a pretty chill little guy overall. He's sweet, easygoing, and carries himself with the confidence of someone who assumes he's the main character because, quite frankly, he usually is. When it comes to bath time, Wilde has opinions. He isn't exactly opposed to baths, but he does feel the entire process is somewhat beneath a gentleman of his stature. His preferred strategy involves carrying on a lengthy conversation about the injustice of the situation while being washed. Thankfully, plenty of praise, attention, and reassurance help him recover from this temporary hardship. As for toys? Absolutely. Wilde enjoys toys, enjoys playtime, enjoys romping around with his sisters, and enjoys all the normal puppy activities. He just firmly believes that toys are most fun when they're followed by cuddles and admiration. Now, before anyone assumes Wilde sprang from the pages of a perfectly edited novel, it's important to remember that he's still a very young puppy. That means his future family will need to continue working on all the usual puppy basics. Potty training is a work in progress, and while he's learning, there may occasionally be a few "creative interpretations" of where the bathroom should be located. Socialization will be incredibly important as well. Wilde already loves people and approaches life with the confidence of a puppy who assumes everyone exists to adore him, but continuing to safely expose him to new sights, sounds, places, people, and experiences will help him grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult. Training should start early and continue often. The good news? Wilde is smart. The potentially inconvenient news? Great Pyrenees mixes are also known for having opinions. Lots of them. Future adopters should expect a dog who may occasionally treat commands as thoughtful suggestions rather than legally binding requirements. Consistent training, patience, and plenty of rewards will help him learn the rules while preserving his charming personality. In other words, Wilde isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for a family willing to guide him through all the puppy lessons ahead while laughing at the occasional plot twist along the way. With time, patience, training, and plenty of love, this little author-in-training is going to grow into a truly wonderful companion. So if you're looking for a loyal sidekick, a professional cuddle consultant, a part-time comedian, and a future gentle giant all rolled into one ridiculously adorable package, Wilde may just be your perfect match. Now for the administrative portion of our novel. Please do not submit your application telepathically. Do not stare meaningfully at his photos and assume we'll somehow know you're interested. Do not whisper "I want him" into the universe and wait for fate to intervene. Instead, fill out an adoption application so we can send it to Wilde's foster family for review: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Once approved, you'll need to come pick up this future literary masterpiece in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wilde would like to remind applicants that he is unable to drive himself home due to his age, lack of opposable thumbs, and repeated failures to obtain a learner's permit. Apply today. Wilde is ready to leave the rescue chapter behind and begin writing the story he's been waiting for all along—one with a family of his very own.
