Peanut is a 10-year-old, 4-month-old male Shih Tzu currently in West Richland, WA. He’s a small senior, house trained, and has been neutered. Peanut does best with soft or canned food due to his lack of teeth from a recent dental procedure. He is friendly with dogs, cats, and children, and loves a cozy bed, indoors or out.

About Peanut

Peanut, also known as Elvis by his foster mom, is a Shih Tzu senior who’s ready for his retirement years. He’s happiest outside, but at home he’ll burrow under the covers or curl up in your lap for the evening. Peanut is genuinely easygoing with other dogs and treats every cat as his instant friend; even chickens can live at peace with him—he’s not interested in their chaos. He had a full dental when he arrived at the rescue and is now mostly, if not completely, toothless, so he prefers canned food. Car rides are a highlight; he bounces joyfully from window to window just to take it all in. Walks are a slow affair with plenty of time for sniffing. Peanut happily snoozes on a dog bed but would rather share yours. Fun fact: as a Capricorn, he knows a thing or two about getting cozy and relaxing in style. Ready to meet your new best friend?
