At nearly five years old, this neutered male has benefitted from nearly a year of professional training after overcoming serious skin challenges and stress. Today, Buster is a healthier, happier, and more balanced dog, full of goofball energy for those he trusts. His absolute favorite things? Fetch, sprinklers, hoses, belly rubs, and rolling around for attention. Trust is everything to Buster. Once you’ve earned it, you'll find a playful, food-motivated companion who will do trust falls into your arms. He’s crate-trained, fully house-trained, and knows his basic commands—but he needs strict structure and a home with experience in behaviorally complex dogs. Buster must be fed separately due to food guarding; he takes treats gently but thrives on clear routines. He can be unsure around strangers, especially men, and needs slow introductions. While he may get along with calm, respectful dogs, high-traffic homes and young children are not the right fit. He has shown gentle interest in cats but always under careful, slow introductions and ongoing supervision. Buster is looking for an adult-only, low-visitor household that can keep a calm environment. A fenced yard for hose and decompression play would make him happiest. He still carries the weight of his journey but remains open and worthy of love.
