Hi, I'm Chanel — and I know that name suggests confidence, but I'll be honest: I come with a little fine print. I'm a gorgeous cream long-haired with silky ears and a soft heart that I do not hand out to just anyone. Trust is something I give slowly, on my own terms, to the right people. But when I give it? I am loyal, sweet, and exactly the kind of dog who makes you feel like you won something. I am excellent with other small dogs — genuinely wonderful — and I'd love a home where I have a furry sibling to pal around with. I'm house-trained, pad-trained, and crate-trained. I'm still working on leash walking, so a securely fenced yard would be a dream for getting my energy out safely. My Ideal Home Women-only household — no adult men residing in or regularly visiting the home. Other small dogs are very welcome and encouraged. No cats, no small animals, no children under 12. A patient adopter who understands shy dogs and will let me set the pace. A Few Important Things to Know Fear of men / bite history: I do not trust men, and I have bitten a man twice in the past when he pushed for interaction before I was ready. This is not something I'm ashamed of — I was scared and I said so the only way I knew how. But it does mean my home must be free of adult men, both as residents and frequent visitors. Please do not apply if that's not something you can commit to. Shy with new people: I take time. I don't warm up on command. The right adopter will give me space, let me approach first, and understand that patience is just part of loving me. Still learning leash walks: I'm a work in progress on the leash. An escape-proof yard is important for my safety while I figure it out. What I Bring to the Table I'm healthy, up to date on vaccines, chipped, and ready for a fresh start with someone who gets me. My previous home wasn't the right fit — and that's okay, because it means I'm still out here waiting for the one that is. If you're a patient, dog-loving woman looking for a silky, sweet girl who will eventually follow you everywhere and make you feel like the only person in the world — I'm your girl. I just need you to earn it first. If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put my name on your application!
