Kaido is a large, male Doberman Pinscher living in Knoxville, TN. He has a short black coat and is neutered with vaccinations up to date. As an adult, he’s already house trained and crate trained. Kaido’s temperament shines most in a one-dog household or with experienced dog handlers.

About Kaido

Kaido lost his first home when his owner was incarcerated, and a family member tried to step in, but realized Kaido would be happier with more space and better family life. He’s been able to settle in with the current caregiver’s pack of medium and large dogs, both male and female, but bringing in new dogs hasn’t worked out well—he really isn’t comfortable with canine newcomers in his own environment. Because of this, Kaido is likely best placed as an only dog or with a very dog-savvy person experienced in careful introductions. If you’re a potential adopter with other dogs, think real hard about your experience level and commitment to slow introductions. Kaido hasn’t been cat-tested. Tested with kids, he’s done well. He’s two years old, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. A true ā€œvelcro dog,ā€ he wants to be near people and hasn’t shown destructive behavior when left out in the house—though every situation is different, and separation anxiety is always a consideration if he’s the only pet. Previously, he did well crated when home alone. Kaido needs a bit of work on leash and obedience training, plus structured vet visits. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to stick close and keep you company, Kaido fits the bill. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
