About Poppy

Poppy Sue is a 1-year-old Pomeranian/chihuahua mix with a small frame and a big heart. She thrives on attention and is happiest when she's snuggled close, earning her the nickname "velcro pup." Poppy forms strong bonds and, once attached, will be steadfastly devoted to her person. Since coming into rescue, she's worked through some separation anxiety with patience and structure; as long as her confidence keeps building and routines are kept, she'll continue to grow more secure and settled. Poppy gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people, but would be most comfortable in a home with older children. Her coat is coming back in after being shaved by a former owner, so she'll need regular grooming as it regrows. She's completely vetted and ready to meet a family that can provide consistency, patience, and lots of affection. This rescue requires adopters to have a securely fenced yard—no exceptions—and children in the home must be at least 13 years old. All adopters must pick up Poppy Sue in person in Bonifay, FL; no transports or remote adoptions are offered. Approved applications are required before scheduling a meet. Give this sweet, loyal girl a place to call home. Start your journey together! Apply now.
