Sylvia (approximately 21 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. She is a loving little girl who is nervous in new situations, but she warms up quickly and loves to be around people & other dogs. She'll try to tell you that she does not know how to walk outside, but put her down anyway & you'll see how great she is at running around and exploring. Some folks in Texas considered her unadoptable when she was diagnosed with a completely treatable and non-transmissible skin condition that made her lose most of her hair, but the team at her Texas shelter stood by her, got her condition treated, and sent her to us where they knew she'd find her perfect people. Sylvia is working hard on her potty training, and since she is so smart and loves to make her people happy, we think she'll figure it out quickly once she is in a loving home with a regular schedule and people who adore her and take the time to train her. We suspect that this gorgeous girl will weigh 43 pounds when full grown, but this is not an exact science so please take it with a grain of salt ;) We believe she is at least part Cattle Dog, so for those who don't know, Cattle Dogs are a working breed and as such, they always want a job to do. They are also known for attempting to herd people, especially children, so if you have kids in the family, be sure that you're OK with a dog that nips at people in an attempt to get them to go to the dog's desired area.
