About Zoey

**Available to go Home after May 30th Zoey Estimated Birthday: 1/17/2026 Breed: Great Pyrenees Adoption Fee: $465 Meet Zoey — the gentle giant-in-training with the softest heart and the fluffiest future. At just a few months old, Zoey has already overcome more than most puppies ever should. She and her two sisters were found abandoned on a rural road by a kind Good Samaritan. Covered in fleas and ticks, underweight, scared, and unsure of the world around her, Zoey had every reason to be fearful. But despite her rough start, this sweet girl chose love anyway. Now? Zoey is discovering that life is actually pretty wonderful — especially when it includes belly rubs, cozy naps, treats, and humans who tell her she’s a good girl (which she absolutely is). As a Great Pyrenees puppy, Zoey is expected to grow into a big girl one day, but right now she’s mostly just an oversized marshmallow with puppy paws and a heart full of affection. She has a lower energy personality for a puppy and would happily accept a career as a professional cuddle consultant. Her favorite activity is being petted, and honestly, she takes that job very seriously. Zoey loves everyone she meets — adults, kids, dogs, and even cats. She’s incredibly gentle and has the kind of calm, loving personality that makes people instantly fall in love with her. She’s the puppy who would rather lean into you for affection than cause chaos… although she still has those adorable “typical puppy” moments because, well, she *is* still a baby. She’s currently working on leash walking and house training, and she’s already crate trained! Say “crate,” offer a treat, and she’ll happily trot right in like the smart girl she is. Zoey will need a family committed to continuing her puppy training and helping her grow into the confident, majestic companion she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who will grow up to be both your best friend and your oversized shadow, Zoey might just be your perfect match. Warning: Adopting Zoey may result in excessive cuddles, permanent dog hair on your clothes, and never going to the bathroom alone again. This is a typical puppy, She eats a bunch, poops a lot, plays hard and sleeps even harder. She working on his/her house-training skills but you can expect to have to train! She a quick learner. Puppies require training, so this puppy is no different. We highly encourage enrolling in a training program to teach your new addition good manners and to help him/her be well socialized. Please remember puppies demand a lot of your time and pets are a commitment for life. When Zoey first came into our rescue with her siblings, they were all covered in ticks and clearly had not received the care they deserved. Shortly after arriving, we noticed Zoey had a limp, and we were concerned she could possibly have hip dysplasia. Because of the heavy tick exposure, we also planned to test her for tick-borne illnesses once she was old enough. Our vet explained that while testing is often done a little later, we could go ahead and test early as long as we understood there is still a possibility of a false negative at a young age and retesting may be recommended in the future. Unfortunately, Zoey did test positive for Ehrlichiosis. Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne disease that affects dogs and is spread through the bite of infected ticks. It can cause symptoms such as limping, lethargy, fever, loss of appetite, low platelet counts, and joint pain. The good news is that many dogs respond very well to treatment, especially when the disease is caught early. Zoey has already started treatment with antibiotics, which is the standard treatment plan for Ehrlichiosis. Most dogs improve significantly with proper treatment and monitoring, and many go on to live happy, normal lives. She will continue to be monitored by our veterinarian, and follow-up testing may be recommended down the road to ensure she stays healthy. We always want to be fully transparent about the dogs in our care and make sure potential adopters know exactly what to expect. Zoey is sweet, resilient, and deserving of a family who will continue giving her the love and care she needs.
