Hi, I’m Heidi — a 1-year-old Dachshund/Hound mix weighing about 19 pounds, and I’m basically a professional little love bug. I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas, and now I’m so excited for my chance to find a loving forever home. The second someone walks into my room, I come trotting right over with my tail wagging because I’m always excited to meet new friends and hopefully collect some pets and attention along the way. When I first got here, I was a little shy and unsure. If someone reached toward me too quickly, I’d back up for a second because I was still learning that people could be kind. But now? Now I happily run over for cuddles and absolutely soak up all the love I can get. Once I trust you, I’m all in and ready to be your little shadow. I do amazing with other dogs and currently share my room with three other pups. We cuddle together, eat together, and get along wonderfully with zero issues. I really enjoy having dog friends around and would probably love a home with another friendly pup to snuggle with. I haven’t been around kids personally yet, but everyone here thinks I’d do just fine because I’m such a sweet, gentle girl. I haven’t been cat tested yet, but that can be done upon request. I’m spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find a forever family that will keep reminding me how loved and safe I truly am.
