About Max
Max is about 11 years old and weighs 15lbs. After losing his last owner, he was rescued in Texas and is now settling into foster care in Brooklyn, NY. Max is a calm, confident little guy—his foster calls him Maxie—and not much gets under his skin. Even the bustle of public transit can’t phase him. He tolerates baths with a little grumbling, but otherwise takes life as it comes. He loves his daily walks, strolling without drama and enjoying just about everything along the way. Max’s energy level sits low to moderate, and once home, he transforms into an independent companion. He won’t insist on lap time, but prefers to quietly trail you from bed to bed just to keep tabs on what’s going on. He’s content to nap by your side, occasionally enjoying a gentle petting session. If you want to cuddle, he’ll allow it—though with a dignified air. Max gets along with dogs of any size, but can be a bit possessive of people or food around other dogs at home. He responds well to redirection, and other dogs’ bad moods don’t ruffle him. In a multi-dog household, he’ll do best with humans who set clear boundaries. He hasn’t lived with cats or kids, but older children he’s met have not bothered him. Likely, he’d adjust fine to respectful cats and somewhat older children, as he can get rambunctious when excited. Max is fully housetrained and knows how to “sit.” He’s tolerant of his crate, but happiest when lounging on a comfy bed. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
