About Maya
Maya is a gentle, shepherd/beagle mix in search of a warm and patient home. At around two and a half years old, she’s right in the sweet spot—past the wild pup stage, but still playful and eager to bond. She’s on the medium side, about 45 pounds, and gets along well with other dogs. Her shy streak means she’ll need a bit of time to open up, but once she feels safe, Maya is all about soft pats, treats, and a steady routine. Maya is heartworm positive, but she’s on a treatment program and can look forward to a full, healthy life when it’s all done. For the next 4–6 weeks after treatment, she’ll need to keep things calm, but after that she’ll be ready for all the walks and playtime you can offer. Her crate and house training are works in progress, as she’s been in a shelter, but she’s eager to learn with guidance. If you’re ready to offer Maya the security she’s been missing, she’ll reward you with gentle loyalty and a goofy, loving presence. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
