About Vera

Vera is a 2-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound mix who has already faced far too many challenges for her age. She was discovered on the side of the road with a badly broken foot, dangerously underweight, and in dire condition. Even after everything she has endured, Vera’s nature remains exceptionally loving and gentle. She greets everyone with trust and affection, letting her big heart shine through. Vera recently underwent surgery for her foot and desperately needs a calm, caring home to continue her recovery. The shelter environment simply is not conducive to healing after such a major operation. If Vera does not receive consistent aftercare and a nurturing space, there's a real risk her leg may ultimately require amputation. Her future depends on finding a foster or adopter who can help her through this crucial chapter. Vera is an absolute joy to know—affectionate, sweet, and an instant favorite among everyone at the shelter. Once healed, she is sure to thrive. Her story deserves a happy ending, and she is ready to bring love and light to a home willing to help her recover. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
