About Poppy
Poppy’s story began at a lonely truck stop in rural Georgia, where she waited for the people she loved to return, but they never did. Despite this rough start, Poppy’s spirit never faltered. Now she’s ready for a real home that will cherish her for good. Poppy is a young, medium-sized Catahoula mix with a tricolor coat and a naturally friendly, well-mannered personality—somebody cared for her once, and it shows. She’s spent time in foster care with small children and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Her energy level fits most households: lively enough for fun but calm when it’s time to relax. She has tested positive for heartworm, but her treatment is fully covered and after that, she’ll be back on track. Poppy does need a refresher on house-training as she transitions from boarding, and all new adopters are encouraged to sign up for obedience classes to help her settle in and deepen your bond. After all she’s been through, what Poppy wants most is simple—a safe place and a loving family who won’t leave her behind again. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
