Bear is a young, medium-sized Shepherd mix with short yellow, tan, and black fur. He's not yet house trained, and as a neutered male, his vaccinations are all current. Bear is in Thousand Oaks, CA and needs a place where he can recover and settle in safely.

About Bear STAFF FAVORITE

Bear needs a foster or adopter urgently due to an upper respiratory infection. This 1-year and 6-month-old Shepherd mix has been waiting since early May for someone to give him the space and care he needs to heal. He's currently in a crowded shelter with hundreds of other dogs, some at high risk of euthanasia simply because of space issues. Bear still has puppy energy and will need ongoing training, but most importantly, he needs somewhere safe to rest and recover. At this point, Bear isn’t yet house trained, and his time is running short. The rescue can help arrange transport if you’re on the West Coast, though fosters do need to be local within Kern County. Ready to open your home to Bear and give him a chance to recover? They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
