About Keenon

Keenon was surrendered when his family moved somewhere that doesn’t allow pets. Heartbreaking, because he’s a perfect gentleman. He’s incredibly gentle and loves affection. He enjoys snuggles, knows sit and paw and has the cutest little hops when he plays. Keenon shouldn’t be in a shelter…he belongs in a loving home. Dogs like him are failed by pet-restrictive housing, but one adoption can change everything. Could you be that person for Keenon? Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
