About Poncho

Poncho is a medium-sized, three-year-old blue and white American Pit Bull Terrier with a remarkable will to overcome tough odds. After surviving a gunshot wound to the head, he faced yet another hurdle, requiring bilateral TPLO surgery on both of his rear knees. Through it all, Poncho has held onto his lively spirit. He’s energetic, eager to play, and happiest when out on walks or sharing cozy moments with people who care. Poncho is fully housebroken and has shown no aggression or bad habits in his foster home. He’s also a social dog, getting along well with both cats and other dogs, and he’s quick to snuggle. Poncho loves life and greets everyone with soulful eyes and a wag. His surgery is scheduled for May 18, and he’ll be with his foster family in Plainfield, Illinois, for six weeks of recovery and therapy before he’s ready for adoption. Poncho has been neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and tested negative for heartworm and other viruses. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
