Portia
AvailablePortia is a young, medium-sized domestic short hair cat living in Groveland, MA. She’s about 1 year and 1 month old and has been spayed, house trained, and her vaccinations are up to date. Portia gets along well with other cats and is looking for a safe, patient home to call her own.
About Portia
Portia arrived with a tough background, picked up during a large rescue effort with two kittens in tow. Although not their biological mother, she took them in as her own, caring for them through recovery from a snake bite and infection. Once she started to heal, Portia’s nurturing, gentle side came front and center, keeping a close watch over her little crew. Her kittens have all the spunk and curiosity you’d hope for, but remain wary of new faces. They need a patient household with children who can respect their space and let them come out of their shells in their own time. If adopted, kittens under four months old must go in pairs or to a home with another playful resident cat. No exceptions here — social learning at this age is non-negotiable. Those looking for a solo cat companion can turn to the older kittens or adults. Portia and her kittens are ready to find a stable, loving home that will let them settle in for good. With a little time and understanding, they’ll open up and show off their full personalities. Sweet Paws volunteers know these animals well and want to ensure they land where they can thrive.
