About Rosie

Rosie (approximately 71 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This majestic house hippopotamus LOVES people and is well known around our agency for her sweet nature. She is an easy walker, likely because Rosie is a very low energy girl who is up for a slow, leisurely walk and then LOTS of cuddles on the couch. In fact, the team at her previous shelter described her as a coffee table because she moves around so infrequently once she's in the house, LOL! The only time we've seen Rosie become focused on something other than her person while out on a walk was when she first encountered our resident ducks, whom she REALLY wanted to chase. Since she does show some prey drive, she would likely be best in a home without cats, unless her adopter is willing to spend a lot of time & effort working with her on this & keeping both Rosie & the cat in question comfortable & safe. Rosie does like other dogs, although she is more of a "book club" kind of girl and less of a "play date" girl ;). She is beautiful, charming, and ready to win your heart, so come meet our Rosie today! If you'd like to meet Rosie and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed).
